About Us

Serving authentic Thai Isaan Cuisine for Everyone Since 2017

Our Story

Sap Ubon Thai Cuisine was founded in 2017, starting out as a small eatery in the heart of Golden Mile Complex, for years one of Singapore's best-loved corners of authentic Thai food. When Golden Mile Complex closed its doors, Sap Ubon carried the same recipes and the same intense flavours to a home-based kitchen in Ang Mo Kio, where we cook today.

Being home-based means every dish is prepared in small batches and made to order, so it reaches you as fresh and punchy as it should be, never toned down or mass-produced.

"At Sap Ubon, what you get is a replica of what you would typically have on the streets of Thailand – simple yet delicious Thai street-food-style cooking with intense flavours." - Wilber Suen, AroiMakMak

Authentic Thai Isaan Cuisine

We specialise in Thai Isaan cuisine: the bold, herb-forward cooking of northeastern Thailand, built on big contrasts of fiery chilli, sour lime, fresh herbs and savoury depth. It's the kind of food you'd find at a street stall in the Isaan heartland, not softened for a hotel dining room.

Regulars come back for dishes like our Roasted Pork Ubon (A6), fresh-pounded Som Tam papaya salad, and a rich, aromatic Tom Yam Seafood Soup, alongside street-food favourites such as Thai BBQ pork collar and basil rice bowls.

Golden Mile Complex: Our Stories and the Future of Your Favourite Shops

"Our first encounter with Sap Ubon was a stroke of luck, when our usual go-to restaurant was out of Chicken Cartilage. Desperate for our fix, we explored Golden Mile and discovered Sap Ubon, and we've been regulars ever since."
